The Porsche Carrera Cup N.A. racing series roared into Miami last weekend (May 3 - 5), sharing the same circuit as the internationally famous Formula 1 Miami Grand Prix. MDK Motorsports' Dan Clarke, driver of the Isringhausen-sponsored No. 64 car, finished in 8th place in the Pro Class in race one and 9th place in the second race. After two race weekends, Dan is in 10th place in the points standings with six more stops to go this season.
His teammate -- Gustav Burton, the driver of the No. 20 car -- fared even better, taking the checkered flag in race one and securing a respectable 14th place in race two. Gus is currently in second place in the point standings, just behind Kellymoss's Loek Hartog.
Miami International Autodrome provided a spectacular backdrop for the racing action. The 19-turn, 3-mile temporary circuit wound around Hard Rock Stadium, which regularly hosts the NFL's Miami Dolphins. During race weekend, it hosted 38 Porsche 911 GT3 Cup race cars in addition to the Formula 1 grid.
The next stop on the 2024 schedule is Circuit Gilles Velleneuve in Montreal, Quebec (June 7-9). Hopefully, Dan Clarke and his MDK teammates will continue their winning ways.
